Vivek Ramaswamy ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 and dropped out after coming in fourth in the Iowa caucus in January 2024. He previously worked in the finance and biotech sectors. In November 2024, President Donald Trump named Ramaswamy to co-lead the Government Efficiency Department, a presidential advisory committee. But Ramaswamy in January 2025 decided not to serve on the committee as he considered running for Ohio governor.
