PolitiFact wants your feedback

By Aaron Sharockman
April 15, 2015

In February, PolitiFact received a grant from the Knight Foundation’s Knight Prototype Fund to help develop a Chrome plug-in that will make it easier for people to request fact-checks.

Currently, we get dozens of requests every day through our main email account, TruthOMeter@PolitiFact.com, as well as through Twitter and Facebook. But we want to create a simple tool that allows any user to instantly request a fact-check by highlighting a piece of text on the Internet.

Then, when the fact-check is done, the plug-in will alert readers that the fact-check is finished.

We’re working with a student-researcher at the University of California Santa Barbara and hope to develop something that can be used by fact-checkers all over the globe.

But we want to do it right.

So we created a simple nine-question survey to help get us started. We want to hear your thoughts, and if there’s more you want to say, email us with the subject line “Plug-in” to TruthOMeter@PolitiFact.com.

Take the survey by clicking here.
