One last look at 2014

Before the year disappears from the rear-view mirror, here’s a final PolitiFact Wisconsin look-back at 2014.

We reviewed the year over the past several days with six recaps of our fact-checking and other work.

So, in one place, here they are:

Beyond the Truth-O-Meter: Fact-checking, of course, is our bread and butter. But we regularly give the Truth-O-Meter a rest and provide articles that offer insight and analysis. Eight of the articles last year covered right to work, several analyses on Walker and other topics.

False claims dominated most-clicked items about Scott Walker: As we noted, fact-checks on statements made by Walker were among our most popular. But so were these 10 claims made by others about Walker.

Guns, deficit, fraud and beer among our most popular non-election fact-checks: The gubernatorial election between Walker and Democrat Mary Burke commanded much of our attention. But there were other claims to fact-check. Some of the most-clicked were on claims made by President Barack Obama, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson and commentator Rush Limbaugh.
