PolitiFact Virginia would like your help covering this fall’s campaigns.

Elections Day is Nov. 8, and there are hundreds of races across Virginia for seats to the General Assembly and local government offices. No doubt, you’ll be receiving loads of direct mail and automated phone calls from candidates it the coming weeks, as well as hearing their ads on radio and TV.

We want to give you some armor for the barrage. If you come across a political claim that raises your eyebrows, or sounds too good or too bad to be true, let us know. We’d be interested in researching it for you and putting it to the Truth-O-Meter.

It helps us to have the direct source of the claim. So if it’s an email, forward it to us. If it’s direct mail, fax it or mail it on to us. If you hear it on radio, TV or and automated phone call, let us know the date and the political organization that sponsored the message.
