The animated show “The Simpsons” has been wrongly credited with predicting several global events, including the Los Angeles wildfires, COVID-19 and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Most recently, Facebook posts show “The Simpsons” foreseeing President Donald Trump’s death on Valentine’s Day.

“February 14, 2025. It could be the day everything changes. And the most unsettling part. The Simpsons already predicted it,” a Feb. 11 Facebook post’s video said. The post featured videos of an animated Trump and characters resembling those in “The Simpsons.”

“In a little remembered episode, ‘The Simpsons’ show a shocking scene,” the video said. “A character eerily similar to Donald Trump lies in a coffin, surrounded by political figures in complete silence. The strange part — a clock in the background shows 2:14.”

But the video in the post is not from “The Simpsons.” We did a reverse image search of a screenshot from the video and found it was previously posted Feb. 9 on an account that posts videos created with artificial intelligence. The video also has an “AI” label on it.

A Simpsons fan page says that Trump’s likeness appeared in 11 episodes. The Trump from those episodes is not animated the same way as the Trump in the Facebook posts.

The claim that “The Simpsons” featured Trump inside a coffin has been circulating since at least 2017. Snopes debunked the claim and found the image of Trump in a coffin originated on the online forum site 4chan.
