ABC’s “The View” is often in the crosshairs of misinformation. PolitiFact has factchecked several false claims featuring the talk show, including one that conservative commentator Candace Owens was slated to host a new ABC morning show that would replace “The View.”

Now a new claim ropes in Owens and another conservative commentator and former Fox News host, Megyn Kelly.

“Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens sign $700 million deal with CBS for morning show to compete with ‘The View,’” a Nov. 1 Facebook post said.

It was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and Threads.)

This claim originated on a Facebook page that posts fabricated claims.

“Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens sign $400 million deal with CBS for morning show to rival ‘The View’ -This is satire,” reads a similarly worded Sept. 26 post on the SpaceX Fanclub Facebook page.

“We post SATIRE, nothing is real,” the account’s bio says.

The post itself is clearly marked satire, both in the caption and in an image of Kelly and Owens that appears in the post.

“Rated satire,” it says in the upper left-hand corner. But the Facebook post resharing it lacked that label.

We looked for, but found no, evidence, such as news reporting, public statements or press releases, any sort of deal between Owens, Kelly and CBS is in the works.

We rate this claim False.
