White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre talked about the economy under the Biden administration during a December appearance on ABC’s talk show “The View,” but she wasn’t interrupted by one of the hosts, as a recent video on social media makes it seem.

“You said a lot of nonsense accompanied with persuasive hand gestures to appear credible,” a man in the clip says. “So let’s go through this one by one: 90% of the jobs Biden ‘created’ were jobs recovered from the pandemic. The economy’s not even close to where it was under Trump.”

Jean-Pierre appears to nod thoughtfully as the man continues to enumerate his criticisms of her talking points.

“She didn’t see that coming,” reads text above the video shared in a June 19 Instagram post.

This clip was created by the man in the video, Damon Imani, who edits footage so that he appears in the video pushing back on people like Jean-Pierre, “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos and first lady Jill Biden.

The original footage of Jean-Pierre on “The View” shows no such interruption.

In 2023, we fact-checked an Imani video taken out of context that appeared to show then-Republican presidential candidate Will Hurd being cut off on “The View.”

Imani called both that video and this one featuring Jean-Pierre satire.

We rate claims that it is authentic False.
