Altered photo of actor Courteney Cox is not evidence of adrenochrome use

If your time is short

  • Claims that celebrities use adrenochrome harvested from children to stay young are unfounded and stem from the QAnon movement.

  • The supposed photo of actor Courteney Cox appearing old after she went without adrenochrome shows Cox using a photo filter designed to make her look older.

See the sources for this fact-check

A recent Instagram post uses images of actor Courteney Cox to support a baseless QAnon conspiracy theory that a global cabal of pedophiles stays young and healthy by harvesting a chemical compound called adrenochrome from the blood of children.

“Adrenochrome use is addictive and destructive,” reads text above two images of Cox, including one in which her skin appears lined and she looks older. “Just ask Courtney Cox… ” the post continues, misspelling the actor’s first name. “#WeWantAnswers #Adrenochrome #Hollywood #SaveTheChildren.”

A Nov. 5 Instagram post sharing the image, which abbreviated an expletive-laden phrase, said: “They kidnap the babies scare tf outta them to make their adrenaline shoot the roof and producing something they can take to get high on and ‘age’ less .. The thing is when they get it or go without they look 1000 years old. Oprah Ellen Courtney the whole crowd laughed like little sheep… They kill the children after they aren’t needed … #adrenochrome.”

This claim is unfounded.

But let’s look at the pictures anyway. The first, younger-looking photo shows Cox in March 2019 on the E! Show “Busy Tonight.”

The second photo is from July 2019, when Cox posted a selfie using a filter that made people look old

“I probably won’t wear my hair like this….” Cox wrote, sharing the photo on Instagram and using an emoji of an older woman.

We rate claims these photos are evidence Cox uses adrenochrome Pants on Fire!
