Oh my God, the Clintons didn’t kill Kenny

If your time is short

  • This false story was taken from a self-described satire website.

  • Kenneth McCormick is "Kenny," a character on the TV show "South Park."

See the sources for this fact-check

As fans of the TV show South Park might know, Kenneth McCormick is better known as Kenny, the perennial character who in early seasons died in every episode, only to return to the show the following week.

He isn’t a former investigator looking into the Clinton Foundation, as a recent blog post claims

“Clinton Foundation investigator Kenneth McCormick found dead,” reads the headline on a web page titled “Zone News 24.”

This post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)

The headline is being shared on social media in earnest, fueling conspiracies about the Clinton “body count.” (More on that here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here.)

But the story was poached from a self-described satire website

We rate this blog post Pants on Fire.
