Prince Charles tested positive for COVID-19, but there is no indication that his mother, the queen, did, too.

A March 28 post on a website called Gossip Blend claims otherwise.

“Earlier today it was rumoured that Queen Elizabeth II tested positive for the novel coronavirus while many UK media outlets have kept silent,” the post says. “In a new press release, the Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the Queen of the United Kingdom has indeed tested positive.”

This post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)

So far, the news out of Buckingham Palace is good. On March 27, a palace spokesman said the 93-year-old British monarch remains in good health. She was then at Windsor Castle with her husband, 98-year-old Prince Philip and “a small number of staff,” Reuters reported

And as for Prince Charles, he announced on April 1 that he experienced mild symptoms and is “on the other side” of his illness.

We rate this blog post False.
