Says Taco Bell is selling menudo for the month of November.

False

No, Taco Bell isn’t selling this traditional beef tripe soup

Taco Bell is well past thinking outside the bun, soaking instead in a bowl of “authentic” menudo available in November only. At least, that’s according to a Nov. 3 Facebook post published on a page where users share Mexican recipes.

Menudo is a traditional, spicy Mexican soup made with beef tripe and chilies, an aromatic dish that has its die-hard fans. But people finding this supposed ad in their social media feeds appear disturbed by the fast-food offering.

“Why tho,” the poster wrote with a sobbing emoji.

“Why!!!” someone echoed.

“I’ll pass on that smh,” another user said.

This post, which has been shared more than 2,700 times, was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)

That’s because it’s fake. “If you believe this… then you’ve been had,” it says in very fine print running vertically along the right side of the post. “Share with others and enjoy the chaos.”

But not everyone is seeing that.

“If anyone tries this,” wrote one, “please let me know how it tastes and if it’s the real thing!”

It’s not, reader.

We rate this Facebook post False.
