Evers stalls out on several promises

By Eric Litke
October 15, 2019

Gov. Tony Evers’ campaign promises included a hot-button schools issue and a series of pledges to create study committees.

We check whether he’s made progress on those.

As a reminder, our Evers-O-Meter tracks dozens of Evers’ promises, just as we did on the Walk-O-Meter for his predecessor.

Updated promises:

— Tighten regulations on state’s school voucher program, or end it entirely

— Create an Office of Inspector General to serve as an independent watchdog

— Create ‘blue-ribbon’ panel on Veterans Trust Fund solvency

— Create ‘blue-ribbon’ panel on agriculture, rural issues
