Before their first debate, fact checking Scott Walker and Tony Evers in the governor’s race

By Tom Kertscher
October 16, 2018

For months, we’ve been fact checking Scott Walker and Tony Evers in the Wisconsin governor’s race.

The pair will meet Oct. 19, 2018 for the first of two scheduled debates ahead of the Nov. 6, 2018 election.

Our latest checks on Walker, the two-term Republican incumbent, include attacks he made on Evers about raising taxes and how he has done on keeping his campaign promises.

Our latest fact checks on Evers, the Democrat and state schools superintendent, include a claim he made about education funding and an attack on Walker over health care.

Go to this article for all of our checks in the race.

We’ll continue to update the article as we do more checks.

(Go here for all our fact checks of Tammy Baldwin and Leah Vukmir in the U.S. Senate race.)
