By W. Gardner Selby

Two Texans paired on the Republican presidential ticket?

Only kind of, if Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has his way.

The Canadian-born, Texas-reared Cruz, scrambling to catch New Yorker Donald Trump for his party’s presidential nomination, announced he’s planning to pick Austin native Carly Fiorina, the former HP executive, as his running mate should he get that opportunity.

No dallying here. Check out Fiorina’s Truth-O-Meter record.

Of recent note, PolitiFact found True Fiorina’s claim the marijuana smoked today isn’t the same as the marijuana smoked in Jeb Bush’s youth. Fiorina’s latest Pants on Fire rating was bestowed for her November 2015 declaration that Obamacare “isn’t helping anyone.”

What else?
