By W. Gardner Selby
September 19, 2014

Tonight’s Texas gubernatorial debate gave Attorney General Greg Abbott, the Republican nominee, an opportunity to show why he deserves his frontrunner standing. It gave state Sen. Wendy Davis of Fort Worth, the Democratic candidate, a fresh chance to show she’s ready to overtake him.

If you’re curious about how the hopefuls have fared up to now on our Truth-O-Meter, click to the PolitiFact report cards of Davis and Abbott. Next, we’ll have chances to add to those troves.

Of course, write us if you heard something fresh in the debate we should tackle.
