By W. Gardner Selby
September 19, 2014

Tonight’s Texas gubernatorial debate gives Attorney General Greg Abbott, the Republican nominee, an opportunity to show why he deserves his frontrunner standing. It gives state Sen. Wendy Davis of Fort Worth, the Democratic candidate, a fresh chance to show she’s ready to overtake him.

But that’s racehorse talk.

If you’re curious about how the hopefuls have fared on the Truth-O-Meter, click to the PolitiFact report cards of Davis and Abbott. Easier: Note our latest fact checks of each of them with this story.

We will  live-tweet from @PolitiFactTexas during the debate, which starts at 6 p.m. Texas time.

The Austin American-Statesman will be livestreaming the debate. The Davis campaign has posted the information below on stations broadcasting and other organizations livestreaming the event.
