Republicans rolled in Texas; not everyone fact-checked yet

By W. Gardner Selby
November 5, 2014

Led by soon-to-be third-term U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and Greg Abbott, the state’s attorney general elevated to governor-elect, Texas Republicans again swept races for statewide office with the Associated Press projecting all the victors not long after all polling places closed.

We realize some of the declared victors have more extensive Truth-O-Meter records than others.

Cornyn and Abbott sport lengthy report cards — here and here, respectively. Also, Lt.Gov.-elect Dan Patrick has often been fact-checked.

Other declared victors — including Attorney General-elect Ken Paxton, state Comptroller-elect Glenn Hegar (only checked once — and about catfish, of all things) and Land Commissioner-elect George P. Bush–have been fact-checked fewer times.

Yet to be checked by us: Agriculture Commissioner-elect Sid Miller and Ryan Sitton, who won his race for a seat on the Texas Railroad Commission.

So, what knocked you over Election Day?
