Texas Truth-O-Meter: Kesha Rogers is a Democrat

By W. Gardner Selby
March 28, 2014

Kesha Rogers, a LaRouche Democrat in a runoff for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination in Texas, isn’t a Democrat, the chairman of the Texas Democratic Party maintains.

Rogers, who favors the impeachment of President Barack Obama, faces Dallas investor David Alameel in a May 27 runoff for the opportunity to face second-term Sen. John Cornyn in November.

Hinojosa said Rogers isn’t a Democrat because she doesn’t reflect genuine party values.

Whether Rogers’ views align with those of mainstream Democrats is open to discussion. But we found no factual basis for deeming Rogers not a Democrat. Voters in Democratic primaries twice nominated her to run for a Houston-area U.S. House seat. Also, she has voted in multiple Democratic primaries.
