A Republican-led effort to change laws related to abortion in Texas swung from the Texas House toward the Senate after debate into the wee hours generated a claim we found smoky.

We found no substance to Rep. Jodie Laubenberg’s claim that a rape kit is basically like a dilation and curettage procedure, ultimately rating the claim as Pants on Fire.
