Cruz, Obama vying with others for Lie of the Year

By W. Gardner Selby
December 2, 2013

A claim by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is among 10 nominees for PolitiFact’s Lie of the Year, annually bestowed by editors and writers for PolitiFact in Washington, D.C.

Cruz, a Republican, said in August that President Barack Obama “just granted all of Congress an exception” to Obamacare. That’s False.

Two statements by Obama also have been nominated.

Read on–and vote for the Readers’ Choice award. (Nominations remain open, too.)
