Take the PolitiFact Challenge!

By Bill Adair
September 17, 2012

Have you taken the PolitiFact Challenge?

It’s a quiz that tests your knowledge of our Truth-O-Meter rulings. It’s included in our new app, Settle It! PolitiFact’s Argument Ender.

The app, paid for by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, is available free for iPhone and Android.

The app’s main feature is a search function that allows you to look up names and keywords. It’s ideal for settling dinner-table arguments or finding the facts after you see a campaign ad on TV.

We’ve been pleasantly surprised to discover the PolitiFact Challenge is being used roughly the same amount as the search function. Users have taken more than 26,000 quizzes.

Each quiz shows you five statements we have fact-checked. You must choose whether we rated them True, False or Pants on Fire.

The game keeps track of your score and allows you work your way up through five levels — from “Intern” to “Aide,” “Lobbyist,” “Pundit” and then the highest level, “Wonk.”

Since we launched the app, here’s how players have scored:

Intern – 7,835

Aide – 4,914

Lobbyist -3,094

Pundit – 702

Wonk – 5

Try the app and see how you measure up!

We’d welcome feedback about the app at truthometer@politifact.com
