Some of our best fact-checks start with our inbox.

We get lots of great suggestions from emails every day, and many eventually get published as Truth-O-Meter fact-checks.

During the presidential debate last week, we used the #PolitiFactThis hashtag to allow you to suggest claims to check on Twitter. We got lots of ideas that led to fact-checks on Massachusetts schools, Mitt Romney’s tax plan and tax breaks for green energy companies.

That was such a success that we’re going to be using #PolitiFactThis every day. So if you see a claim you think we should check, tweet us with a short description, the hashtag and a link, and we’ll try to check it out.

As always, we still welcome your suggestions by email. Send them to truthometer@politifact.com.
