When a Texan gave the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention, the Texas Truth-O-Meter kicked into gear.

Making a case for Barack Obama, San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro said the Republican presidential nominee lacked a common touch.

“Mitt Romney, quite simply, doesn’t get it,” Castro said in his Sept. 4, 2012, speech. “A  few months ago, he visited a university in Ohio and gave the students there a little entrepreneurial advice. ‘Start a business,’ he said. “But how? ‘Borrow money if you have to from your parents.’”
