Countdown to primary Tuesday: Two big races

By Tom Kertscher
August 10, 2018

Two races top the Aug. 14, 2018 ballots in Wisconsin  — the Republican primary for U.S. Senate and the Democratic primary for governor.

Political newcomer Kevin Nicholson and state Sen. Leah Vukmir are vying for GOP votes for the right to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin in the fall.

Meanwhile, eight Democrats are in a scrum to see who’ll take on Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

We’ve done two dozen fact checks of Nicholson, Vukmir and Baldwin in the Senate race. And some 50 checks of the Democrats and Walker in the campaign for governor.
