Jill Stein claim that U.S. bombing 7 countries sparked our No. 1 fact check of 2016

By W. Gardner Selby
December 31, 2016

Stumping in Austin, the Green Party’s presidential nominee made a claim about U.S. bombing actions that touched off our most-clicked fact check from 2016.

Jill Stein said of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton: “They don’t have a solution to the expanding wars except more wars. We are already bombing seven countries… They do not want to talk about that.”

Without a lot of trouble, we identified seven countries lately bombed by the U.S.: Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and Libya.

We rated Stein’s statement TRUE.
