New PolitiFact feature highlights work of other fact-checkers

By Bill Adair
May 5, 2011

Today we’re introducing a feature that highlights the work of other fact-checkers.

Beyond the Truth-O-Meter, which appears on the right side of the PolitiFact home page beneath the tally of campaign promises, will be updated every day with the work of FactCheck.org, the Washington Post‘s FactChecker and other news organizations.

We’ll feature the five most recent links on our home page. If you miss a day or two, you can get the full list in our Beyond the Truth-O-Meter archive.

The new feature shows how fact-checking is growing, particularly at the state and local level. PolitiFact now has sites in eight states operated by partner newspapers. There’s also great work being done by Minnesota Public Radio’s Poligraph, which is written by former PolitiFact writer Catharine Richert; the Voice of San Diego Fact Check; AZ FactCheck; and many others.

The addition of Beyond the Truth-O-Meter is a reminder that there’s lots of new content on PolitiFact every day. So make sure you bookmark our home page and check it daily.
