Who says truth and politics don’t mix?

The old joke goes something like this: How can you tell when a politician is lying?

• Sen. Sherrod Brown: Twenty-two million jobs were created during Clinton”s two terms but only 3 million during Bush’s.

• Congressional candidate Bill O’Neill: “In recent years, Rep. LaTourette has sponsored legislation that would increase spending by 551.6 percent.”

• State Rep. Courtney Combs: “Phoenix, Ariz., is the No. 2 kidnapping capital of the world.”
