See the sources for this fact-check

Search for news about megastar Taylor Swift and Vice President Kamala Harris and behold the numerous articles and blog posts speculating about whether Swift will endorse Harris for president in the 2024 election.

What doesn’t turn up: news that Swift recently announced she’s performing with Beyoncé at an event to raise money for Harris’ campaign.

A recent Threads post claims that’s what happened, however.

Responding to a July 23 post about whether Swift would endorse Harris, an account said: “3 hours after this posted she announced a fund raising concert with Beyoncé in support of Harris.”

This post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

We contacted Swift’s publicist about the claim but didn’t immediately hear back. But we found no evidence to support it, such as credible news coverage, public statements from Swift, Beyoncé or Harris, or news-breaking posts on their social media accounts

Swift endorsed Biden and Harris in 2020.

“I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president,” she said on X in October of that year. “So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot.”

Beyoncé, meanwhile, gave Harris permission to use her song “Freedom” during Harris’ first official visit to her campaign headquarters July 22, CNN reported. The song also features in Harris’ first presidential campaign ad. But Beyoncé had yet to make a formal endorsement as of July 24.

We rate claims that Swift announced July 23 a Harris fundraising concert with Beyoncé False.
