Using logic we couldn’t quite follow, a recent Facebook post suggests that a fact-check is evidence that former first lady Michelle Obama is a man. 

“OH NO!” reads text over a video about the fact-check, which debunks the authenticity of supposed Obama photos. “Proof Dems know about Michelle Obama!! Response to Snopes pics.” 

A Sept. 26 Facebook post sharing the video wrote: “She’s a he.”

This post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

The post refers to a Sept. 22 Snopes fact-check of claims that newly released images showed Obama pregnant. 

The pictures are clearly fabricated. The face looks different from one image to the next — and doesn’t resemble Obama — and in one of the images, a hand has six fingers. 

So, how is this proof corroborating the longtime unfounded claim that Obama is a man? 

It’s unclear from the post. 

And it’s untrue.
