A recent Facebook post promises breaking news delivered by former President Donald Trump who, the July 11 post says, “just dropped a b.o.m.b.shell!!!”

The post features a more-than-15-minute C-SPAN clip of Trump speaking at a lectern. The word “live” appears in the corner.

But this footage hasn’t been live for nearly a year.

This post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

The video was taken in November 2022, when Trump spoke at an America First Policy Institute event. During his remarks, he responded to the Justice Department’s appointment of a special counsel to investigate him in connection with classified documents.

We rate claims that this is a recent video showing Trump breaking news False.
