“Free dental implants” are available “through Dental Grants.”

The use of implants to replace missing teeth is so common that by 2026, 23% of U.S. adults will have them, according to dental medicine researchers.

Implants can cost thousands of dollars per tooth.

That’s a big market.

A webpage linked from a Facebook post claimed to offer dental implants at no cost.

“Obtaining Free Dental Implants through Dental Grants,” the page said.

“Thankfully, Dental Grants offer a viable option to obtain FREE dental implants. Learn more below.”

The post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

“Grants” would suggest that money is available to pay for the implants, which are surgically placed into the jaw to support artificial teeth such as dentures, which are removable.

But all six links on the page shared on Facebook led not to ways to obtain free implants, but to commercial dental clinics and other websites. 

The websites of the clinics selling dental implants offered free consultations, as many businesses do. But we found no offers of grants or free implants.
