No, liberals are not trying to make pedophilia legal in the US

If your time is short

  • A 2015 blog post falsely suggests that liberals want to make pedophilia legal in the U.S. based on their support of Muslims and the LGBTQ community.
See the sources for this fact-check

Liberals (or conservatives or anyone else) are not trying to make pedophilia legal “in preparation of Sharia law in America,” despite what one story claims

The article, which displays an image of a man in a turban kissing a young boy, was published by a website called “Now The End Begins” in 2015 and updated in 2019. It was wrong then. It’s wrong now.

The story was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)

There is no context to the image and we could not track down the original. Nevertheless, the story’s message is wrong.

The article’s content seems to suggest that the Democratic Party’s support of the gay community, Muslims, and the successful bids of Democratic Muslim congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ihan Omar is reason enought to claim that the party is aiming to make pedophilia legal.

There is no evidence that any U.S. politician, liberal or otherwise, is trying to make pedophilia legal or that they are pushing any sort of religious views or laws.

The claim is inaccurate and ridiculous. Pants on Fire!
