Lee Zeldin is a Republican who represented New York's 1st Congressional District (Long Island) in the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023. He lost a bid for New York governor in 2022. In November 2024, President Donald Trump nominated him to be Environmental Protection Agency administrator.
