Julie Lassa, a Democrat, was elected to the Wisconsin state Senate in 2003 after serving five years in the state Assembly. In November 2010, she lost a bid for the open U.S. House seat previously held by U.S. Rep. Dave Obey (D-Wis.). The district covers northwest Wisconsin.
