Jennifer McClellan

Democrat Jennifer McClellan was elected to the Virginia Senate in 2017, representing a district centered in Richmond. She had previously served for 11 years in the House of Delegates. McClellan unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination for governor in 2021.

McClellan was born in Petersburg, Va. and graduated from the University of Richmond and the University of Virginia's law school. She is assistant general counsel for Verizon.
