Ghazala Hashmi

Ghazala Hashmi is a Democrat running in 2019 for the 10th District Virginia Senate seat covering Powhatan County and parts of Chesterfield County and Richmond. She's challenging incumbent Republican Glen Sturdevant. Hashmi has a BA in English from Georgia Southern University and a Ph.D. from Emory University. She is the founding director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Reynolds Community College.
