The Commonwealth Institute

The Commonwealth Institute provides independent research and of state fiscal and economic policies in Virginia with a focus on how they affect middle class and low income people. The Commonwealth Institute is the State Priorities Partnership (SPP) group for Virginia, part of a national network of nonpartisan, independent, nonprofit organizations in over 40 states. The SPP network is coordinated by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a Washington-based research organization and strategic policy institute that works on a range of federal and state issues.
